article [boston.internet.com]

Portal player Yahoo (Quote, Company Info) is teaming with broadband provider British Telecom to offer new premium services to residential customers in the United Kingdom.

I found this particularly interesting:

For Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Yahoo!, the agreement marks its first telecom partnership in Europe and better establishes its paid services, a key future revenue area.

Hey, that's BIG news!
That's a dynamite partnership in terms of public recognition: The worlds best know internet name and the national telecoms provider.

Should be interesting...

Thanks 2_much...

About 2 months ago I can remember filling out a very long online survey for Yahoo where it quizzed me about how much I would pay for broadband internet access and how much for different value added services.

It was only in the comments section at the end that I could tell them that Broadband wasn't available in my area and was unlikely to become available for a long time (despite the government's and BT's announcements)
