Like most everyone in the forums, I've been very curious about how Yahoo! will move forward after the acquisition of Inktomi. There has certainly been a great deal of conjecture about what will happen, especially with the recent Ink. crawl.
I was unaware that Y! Canada still showed results the "old" way (from the pre-Google integration phase of Yahoo!'s search results), but gather that either the current Y! Canada model will be used (but with Ink results as web results) or the current U.S. model will be used, with Inktomi replacing Google.
The latter, I believe, will happen only if Inktomi is significantly improved (presumably by those at Yahoo!) in terms of relevancy. It appears to me, however, that Google has gone down a bit in quality/relevancy over the past several months, so that an improvement in relevancy for Ink. would mean a closing of the gap by virture of both Ink.'s "expected" improvements and Google's (IMO) slight fall-off.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
