Yahoo's pretty confident at the moment... not sure I agree with their reasoning, but hey, they ain't asking my opinion.

Wow, great find. This gives me a lot more feedback about Yahoo's latest moves than I've ever had:

"We're very excited about that increase," he said, "because the more time they spend with us the more opportunities we have to talk to them -- both Yahoo! opportunities in products and services, as well as those of our advertisers."

- This is probably why they were using Google - it keeps people on their site. They knew their directory sucked so they're using search to keep people on the site and make money from the other services.

"Semel also reiterated the company's commitment to paid search, including paid inclusion listings, and noted that the Inktomi acquisition also brought Yahoo! a sales force accustomed to making paid search sales. Those salespeople, Semel said, would be focused on attracting small- and medium-sized businesses, and their sales pitches would be enhanced by the fact that Yahoo! generates better-than-average click-throughs in the paid search arena. "

- Someone mentioned this at one point - they now have a staff of peole that can support their directory/search engine more effectively. I think Yahoo wants to become a player of its own in this industry again.

"Yahoo! is set to unveil its results next week after Wednesday's market close. "

- So hopefully soon we will see what Yahoo will do with Ink's results - Brett's guess that they would act speedily seems to be correct.

Now this sounds interesting. To "unveil its results" - what results? Are they talking about the new search engine - what - Just plain English please. When they say they are committed to their paid search including paid inclusion listings kind of sounds like they are sending a message to us paid submitters saying they haven't forgotton about us. Hey - do you think they'll bring the directory back into play. Okay - I've asked that like 3 times. I'm just getting excited. You don't know the road I've traveled these 3 months - my business was seriously affected or is it effected. Whatever... I would be so happy if they gave me back my traffic. I think I'd have a party. LOL!

Why don't they ever say what these 2 million subscribers are for? Or is that just email?
