Since Yahoo! changed their default search to show Google's serps and not Yahoo! directory, has anyone been paing for inclusion?
(We have not submitted any sites to Yahoo! since the change.)
And if you are still submitting to Yahoo!, why?

Most definitely!

At $0.82 cents per day it can be your best spent money in online strategies.

Even if you have good Google SERP's the Yahoo listing gives you that much more boost, in Yahoo as well as Google, Netscape, and others.

All you need to see the benefits... look at the bigger picture! ;)

I haven't submitted any sites to Yahoo and have been focusing entirely on Google.

Google traffic is now making up for lost Yahoo traffic.

It depends on your business model - for people who run many websites, it may not be worth it, but if you have a few or just one large website, it's definitely worth it.

I've not gotten much traffic from the directory URL itself, but have assumed it has been helping with our PR. It's a tough decision to renew or not....

I read in a book, i think it was called 'the future of success' and it said to affiliate yourself with partners that you can use their resources to drive your business. For our business, this is what we do with Yahoo, list lots of our sites and use their network to build our traffic...

I just tested this with one site over the past 90 days. I held off on the Yahoo! submission just so we could get a feel for how the rest of the SE's were going to react to the site.

All in all, things went well. Of course our #1 referrer for that site is Google. We did the Yahoo! submission last week of October and they approved it within 3-5 business days.

Since 2002 November 01, our Yahoo! referrers have more than doubled. On certain days they actually outperform the Google referrers.

So to answer your question, yes, we will still be submitting to Yahoo! as we always have. We're probably even going to bring LS back into the picture (another topic). Gotta keep in mind that a lot of people still use the Yahoo! directory. Even though it's fed by Google, they have their own little algo going and a directory listing in Yahoo! will have it's rewards.

I'll mirror fathom's statement...

It's actually $0.819178 per day, a little less! ;)

P.S. We have another site that just got approved today for a listing. That one has been online since June 2002. Six months without a Yahoo! listing. Let's see what happens over the next 30-60 days.
