yahoo listing

if your site is listed in yahoo, does the PR of the cat. count?

thats my question. if your listed in yahoo under say "sports cars" and the top of the yahoo page shows a pr 1 or 2, is that the pr that googlebot reads when counting that link?

Yup. PR is calculated on a per page basis.
So if your listing is on a PR2 page, then the PR of that page gets shared over all outgoing links.

Most people here would say yes. How it effects your pages PR is another matter: Google have been thought to apply a factor to directory listings

Good question!

Ive always wondered what affect ODP data dumps have on your PR.

For example, if you get in a high PR ODP category, then a few months down the line you will be in a few hundred high level ODP data driven directories, so the high PR should be passed on and therefore your OPD category has quite a large bearing on your PR.

I would imagine that any directory category would pass on PR, although ODP may be singled out as a special case.

So Yahoo should be fine.

But dont quote me on that! :) Perhaps someone else can offer a more definite answer!
