More than one listing in Yahoo?

Does Yahoo allow the same site to have a listing in more than category?

My company submitted our site for a free regional listing, and got listed in the top-level business area for free. But when you do a regular search, the regional one is the only one that shows. The business listing can only be located by using the drill-down menus.

Both those listings are in the same general subject area though... just that one is under Regional:US States:Alaska:Business:Energy and the other is under Business:B2B:Energy:Renewable

If you wanted two listings in distinctly different subject areas, your site would probably have to have distinctly different areas for each subject, and you'd have to submit URLs leading directly to each site area to each category. (did that make sense?)

I'm glad you asked this question, since there was a discussion about this just last week. Tedres posted what I thought was a brilliant post there, and it was never commented on. Maybe this will be the excuse to continue that train of thought. :)

On their Suggest a Site form they keep repeating, what amounts to, "if your site is already listed in Yahoo, forget it."

Just curious.

Used the paid submission in Yahoo.

Site got listed in the category requested, plus in
Regional:Countries:Swizerland, and the category it was in in yahoo.com (looks like they created this particular category
under Regional:Countries:Switzerland)

Might also have gotten listed elsewhere.

yep, that is what I am reading too (sec. 2.6 of BizEx agreement). Tedres posted a good exception noted above but I think it is just that, an exception for a huge site with many good content categories. Some of the duplicate listings you see could be from older Yahoo guidelines (along with the "useful" descriptions). They changed a lot last year including shorter descriptions, an increase in the word "offers", and tighter control over listings.

I wouldn't use business express for requeting additional listings if the site already had their main url listed. If a subpage was listed, but not toplevel url, then OK. Otherwise, I would just submit content-rich pages to noncommercial subdirectories and hope the editors consider them based on their value to users.
