Forum Moderators: open
Here is what I'm finding out:
When AdSense ads are put there, they reflect the topic being discussed.
When Y ads are there, they reflect the general theme of my board.
This tells me that Y has not gotten enough advertisers to actually go out and get an ad for every predominant word that happens to come up in a thread or subject heading.
BETA indeed.
Can't wait for this porgram to get to the next level, as my income from it is 10 times what adsense is/was making me.
Forums perform horribly for CPC advertising-
...so if I'm getting 3-4 clicks a day from 3,000 impressions...Y is paying often over a dollar for each, while G is getting a remarkable .03-.23, typically.
You do the math.
I've been doing very well, it helps if you target the ad's via the targeting category for each specific php page.
For example, if you want one specific category in the showthread.php (for vbulletin) set it; for the main index another etc. etc...
After experimenting for the past three months, i've found a sweet spot where I've been able to maintain a low (but decent) CTR and have good earnings...
When I first signed up they appeared to be legit. They serve good ads, and I have heard good things about them from other webmasters.
But, if you do a search for "Hurricane Digital Media" (WITH the quotes) on Google, the 3rd result makes me wonder who the hell I'm giving my information to.
I'll think ten times before I send my SS info.
Now they're making some noise about it.
That's what I'm reading anyway...
