I _have_ been doing some "homework", but I'm a little too busy to try out each category. If someone knows and is willing to help me out, please do. Otherwise, you're not helping anyone by dismissing the question.
Thanks
Sheesh, calm down...why wouldn't you help someone out if you've already been through the trouble.
Profitable, I presume, means a high income to investment ratio. Unfortunately, every failed site is part of the investment for the profitable sites.
If Jim starts 10 sites on different subjects, taking 50 hours each, that's 500 hours serious time investment alone. One of those may do well, and give $X a day.
If Jim tells you the subject of that one site, then you will make $X a day for 50 hours work, profitability $X/50. Jim himself has had to invest 500 hours so his profitability is $X/500, 10 times less. Not only that, but your new site will directly compete with Jim's site, cutting his profitability even further.
Does that explain why nobody here is likely to tell you of the profitable topics they have found through research, trial, and error?
Read the archives, there is plenty of info on how to find a profitable niche. Once word gets out that a niche is high paying it becomes a low paying niche with tons of competing sites so no one in their right mind would disclose what is making a killing.

Good call Flash. My sentiments exactly...
I'd say Sidewalk Chalk, Gym Socks and Bubble Gum.
