YPN Criteria

Just curious. Does anyone know some of of criteria Yahoo uses when accepting a site for YPN? Thanks.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? In their invitation they say, in part:

"...our new Yahoo! Publisher Network....provides small- and medium-sized web publishers..."

What size is a small-size website? What is a medium-sized website? I honestly don't know the answer to these questions and hoping someone can help me.

Same here, can someone enlighten us, Like what yahoo looks for to accept and what size the site should be? Ive requested to be acepted, no response yet.. its been about 2 weeks.

Ok I dont know what is going on here but since some one stated "I applied 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing" let me say this. I applied 4 months ago, no word yet. I applied again. Nothing. So then I applied with every option available in different sequences. Still nothing. I can't find a phone number oor anything to get in touch with them. So pretty much the only way your getting in is when they decide to invite you. I'm in the US with US traffic and nothing. Oh well. Perhaps if less non-us sites would not apply, then I could get in and take a look around 'cause guess what YOUR FOREIGN ACCEPTANCE IS NO GOOD HERE! I'm not anti-non-US or anything, i just halp but get frustrated by all this. People who are eligible cant get in because people who are'nt eligible are sitting on invites. Sorry for the rant....

I got home and found a message from YPN on my answering machine. Before YPN started (several months ago) I had filled out the application that said they would contact me when the program started. I did get that first initial email from them saying I could apply. I did apply and heard nothing.

A month or month and a half ago I went back to the YPN website and filled out the application form again. Evidently six days ago they sent me email saying I was accepted into the program. I failed to notice their email. They noticed that I hadn't started displaying their ads so they called me at home today to see if I needed help geting things set up on my site. I guess I'll get the ads started up later tonight.

So evidently YPN is still accepting applications.

What's wrong with FrontPage? It's one of many tools to create websites. The skill is in the hands of the web designer, not the tool.

So, to get you back on the target of my original inquiry, are you saying Yahoo only accepts sites created with FrontPage? And, from your obvious expertise in the ways of the web, what's "crappy" and what are "redeeming qualities?"

Maybe you can enlighten us so others learn how to correct the errors of their way, and all will be accepted.

I didn't get invited, nor was I likely to. I went to the site, filled out the form and clicked the button. Two weeks later I got the email.

My site is not little and I didn't do it in frontpage but it's kinda crappy and I think it has one or two redeeming qualities, but I'm not totally sure.

I've completed the sign-up process with YPN and while reading the FAQ I noticed this line.

>>Although you are only allowed to have one account, you may use this account to manage multiple websites on which you would like to display ads. To do so, simply add the code to the sites you would like to display ads on.<<

Isn't this a major point of dissatisfaction with the Adsense program? The fact that there is no review of the sites that the ads appear on and hence the program gets filled up with scraper sites and MFA type sites.

I thought YPN was being selective in who they allowed to participate. Evidently I was wrong.
