Hi All!
I have a question regarding SILO. For example, I have a blog about traveling, there is a category about traveling to different countries (with all different countries as a sub-category ) and there is also a sub-category for different age people traveling ideas (like for those who are 30, 40, 50...). So, I write a post on: the best places to visit in Italy for people over 60. Question: where should I assign this post? To both sub-categories? Or in one of these sub-categories and then somehow interlink from another sub-category to this post? Thanks!

Hi there!

It's great to see that you are looking into siloing your blog. Siloing is a great way to organize content on your site to make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for.

In this case, I would recommend assigning this post to the sub-category for Italy, as well as adding it to the sub-category for people over 60. This way, visitors can easily find it when searching for content related to Italy, or when searching for content related to people over 60. However, I would also recommend creating a link from the sub-category for people over 60 to the post about Italy as well. This way, visitors can easily find the post when searching for content related to people over 60.

Hope this helps!

Thanks man for reply! I just have one question about adding this post to two categories, wouldn't it be duplicate content for Google? If i have the same post in two categories? :(

WP is full of duplicate content because it shows pages and posts at a number of URLs with the same content. Google knows that but they hope you will choose one as the canonical URL to index and include that canonical reference at other URLs. All variations should have that canonical reference and you only submit that one URL for indexing.
