WordPress 6.0.1 was released a few days back and I wonder if you choose to update manually, or rely on automatic updates?

I found a few sites that I used to manage that they weren't updating automatically, and I've already warned these people to switch to automatic when they didn't want me to continue to provide support. It's as if they just really aren't bothered. One of them already lost their site a couple of months back, but I got it back for them.

I ought to let these site owners know.

I updated half a dozen sites over the past few days. I noticed something I would never have guessed they would do and that is that the update itself disabled all the automatic updates that had been scheduled for various long term plugins like Akismet. They all had to be reset. So people who were getting automatic WP updates and got the notifications might not bother to log in and look around until something bad lets them know that their plugins are not set to automatically update. :(
