dear Community

i want to reset the WordPress database to its original settings

i am working on a local server (i have a test site),

i want to restore the database back to how it was when you first started.

how to reset the WordPress database to default settings.

i think: WordPress stores all the website content in a database.

That said: i guess that this includes all that following things like: posts, pages, media file data, plugin and theme settings, and more.

Well - how to achieve this.

welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com], tanger!

if you don't want to "get your hands dirty", there are numerous WP plugins available that will reset the database.

hello dear Phranque

first of all - many many thanks for the quick answer. GREAT to hear from you
I will have a closer look at the plugins-directory - to find such a solution

But: my question was (on a side note) one that is interested to get a overview on the principal method of doing so.
A plugin might function as a so called black box - whereas all of the methods are "black-boxed" and not visible.

but anyway- i will have a look at the plugindirectory.

have a great day

I would either use a plug-in as suggested, e.g. WP Reset [wordpress.org], or simply re-install WordPress.

If starting over a new install with the CURRENT VERSION of WP is the best method. Blank slate with "zero errors"...
