Since I updated to WordPress 5.7, my WordPress editor font size has become tiny!

I can't write any new posts. The font is too small.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

To be clear, if I publish the post, it's fine. It's only small while I am editing it.

I'll be grateful for some help.

Does the font appear the same in all browsers? Are you editing via mobile device or desktop? Do you have any custom font settings for your browser? Are you using any custom text editing tools/plugins?

Hi, not2easy.

The font is tiny only in the Gutenberg Editor. When I scroll down and enter information into, say, Yoast, the font is normal. I don't think it's the browser, because all text would have been affected. The issue is specific to the editor.

I recently updated to WordPress 5.7. I also updated my theme. I am guessing therefore that my theme may be incompatible with WordPress 5.7.

I have contacted the theme's developers. I'll report back on how the issue is resolved so that anyone else who may experience this issue can be guided.

When the Gutenberg blocks first came out, a plugin for a "normal" editor also came out. Yes, it should need a plugin for the "new" feature, but instead there is a plugin for the old version: Classic Editor plugin.

If the classic editor does not fix the tiny font problem then you should check your theme at the WP Themes [wordpress.org] repository where you can see which versions of WP it is compatible with.

If it is a purchased theme, look for it in the WP Commercial [wordpress.org] Themes section.

If it is not listed in either of those sections you would need to check on it where you got your theme.

Some brilliant advice! Thank you, not2easy!

It turned out to be my theme. Basically, updating to WordPress 5.7 caused the problem. I contacted support, and they fixed the issue. However, since then, I have noticed that my social media sharing buttons have also stopped working, and there seems to be an issue with the navigation menu on certain pages!

This is why I get nervous whenever a new update comes along!

Anyway, thank you for your help. I joined this forum years ago, when I first started learning how to construct websites. It's nice to see that it's still useful.

Newer versions of WP hope for a newer version of PHP too. They run faster and more efficiently using PHP 7 or higher.
