Migrating WordPress site to subdomain

We have static html site and now we redesigning the site using wordpress,

My question is how to move wordpress site from Local Server to Live Website subdomain for testing before going to live.

also how to move wordpress site from one domain to another domain subdomain for testing before going to live.

An older discussion here has much of the information you seek and a link to the wordpress.org instructions for either moving or appearing to move a WP installation. I think it can help your situation(s) no matter what you decide you need to do: [webmasterworld.com...]

A note about that discussion - the old link to the WP instructions page was changed since then, it is now at [wordpress.org...]

You might want to also look into setting up a dev environment on your domain in the sub-directory if you choose to use that method.

You can always make your installation appear to be in a different directory than where it physically is installed and those instructions are also at that link. The simple thing about using that method is that you only need to do a few minimal steps to make your changes later.
