Wordlift

Has anyone seen success with it or disable it?

Myself and 2 others inherited a HUGE mess when we were hired as internal SEOs within search marketing at an enterprise level company. It quickly became apparent that the SEO vendors they'd hired & dumped millions of dollars into clearly milked the company for all that could by taking advantage of the executive team's lack of expertise on SEO strategies and tools. I''m 99.9% sure they received commissions or some sort of financial gain for getting the company to purchase several big ticket subscription services. Wordlift was a one of the plugins that was installed around July of this year. Although I haven't been able to find any negative reviews in SERPs, we haven't seen any evidence that it's helped us in the rankings. It also is a pain in the ass and installs all manner of bloated code, and hinders the process of tasks that should be simple, like posting blogs. Also when we went to look back at our top blogs of 2019 (and we put out some quality content by some gifted writers) -- I could only find a few of them up till February that actually have any traffic (this may not be a direct consequence of Wordlfit since we have multiple infrastructure issues, but, I don't think it's helped it any, either).

Does anyone have any good stories about Wordllift?
Bad stories?
Has anyone disabled Wordlift, and if so, what were the results?

Thanks!

Because your issue is related to problems with a WordPress plugin so we are talking about a WP site, I've moved this to the WordPress forum where people with WP experience might see it and offer suggestions.

The Wordlift plugin has a support page: [wordpress.org...] where you might find help and support with your specific problems.

In general, if there is no genuine need to use a plugin, try disabling it to check if that corrects the issues. If it does, it can be uninstalled through the plugins control panel.

@Spacecowgirl .... Welcome to Webmasterworld!

not2easy offers some sound advice:

Take that to bank! In most cases less is more UNLESS there is a compellingreason to insert something into the mix, because every insert adds potential problems down the line.

Thank you @tangor and @not2easy! I actually had an account back in the early 2000s but I think it was tied to an old work email addy - name was "Safesurfer" (hehe - a nod to Julian Cope) -- thanks for the warm welcomes and all the sage advice. Yeah we are just looking for any excuse to get rid of the nuisance that this plugin is. The only problem, I can't find any real solid evidence that it HURTS anything, which is always helpful when making the case to nix a tool. But they are going to be doing a master plugin purge soon, and I'm sure it'll be easy to remove this one, too.

Thanks for weighing in guys and for making me feel so welcome! xoxo
