I have the Catch Responsive theme set up and have posted 4 posts with featured images.

I have also customized the Featured Content section so it only shows on home page, with 3 columns and the headline is Featured Content. and I clicked publish. However, it is not working. Posts are still showing in vertical format.

Can someone tell me what might be wrong?

It is difficult to troubleshoot a theme from afar. Switch back to a default theme such as 2018 to ensure all your posts, headers and menus render properly. Then switch back to your chosen theme.

There are probably theme options that you have overlooked. Did you download it from wordpress.org? This is a theme on wordpress.org, so it is tested and should work. Are there docs that come with the theme? Reset everything back to default and try using a single option at a time until you get the hang of the theme.

How are you testing your theme? What device are you using. If the device is too narrow all responsive themes will render a single column, as it should.

Multi-columned themes are tricky and very sensitive. Another plugin could be breaking your div sets or over-riding the CSS that was holding it together.

+1 @Kendo ... this is usually the cause for display failures. When things get "complicated" we can all too easily overlook something getting in the way.

Restore defaults and build back to what you seek. Often the offending code is not what you think it could be!

If you do not use a developer extension/plugin/addon/toolbar for your browser, think about adding one. For tasks like troubleshooting you can have an arsenal of tools to help you see what caused your issue and try out fixes before playing in the code.

Note - because it is WP, the first thing to do is to try disabling plugins and adding them back one at a time. Also make sure everything is up to date - and very important - clear your cache when testing.

I was viewing it in a desktop browser. I tried 3 different browsers, clearing cache, etc., one of which had never viewed the blog before.

I downloaded the plugins right within WP - the bare minimum.

Thanks for all the tips. I'll try removing plugins etc.
