How can I Automatically Link Featured Images to Posts in WordPress

I am using a free theme called Enamored free wordpress theme. On category page it shows big thumbnails of featured images. I want to link those thumbnail to the posts so if anyone clicks on the image they reach the post. For now only title is linked to the post and nothing happens if one clicks on the thumbnail.

I have not used the Enamored theme, but have used other themes with a featured image. When you edit each post, on the bottom right, there should be a featured image section, where you can upload an image. This image will be the featured image that will be displayed for the post. This image is usually smaller than a normal image, so you may need to play around with the size, otherwise the image you use will be cropped. The theme may have come with a couple test images.

I have used the free theme Evolve, which also has featured images on their multi-column layout. Enamored's "2 Grid" layout looks pretty similar.

You need to create a child theme then create the code there so that the featured image has a link to the article. You can look at the text link code (click here, read more) and just replicate the code from there but around the code for the featured image.

Have you installed "Easy Add Thumbnail"?, I think this plugin will help you create feature images of all posts; future or past posts.

I use "Require Featured Image". With this plugin you can't forget the featured image because it deactivates the "Publish" button until a featured image is selected.
