Hello,

I’ve tried solutions in older threads with no success. Is there a way to actually delete an uncategorized category? I know about going to the admin panel and disabling uncategorized post but this simply hides the category. Is there a way to fully delete it? I don’t even know how it was created.

Thank you!

Is this not the default of a standard Wordpress? I've always had an uncategorized category for all WP installs. I'd just leave it alone.

Why do you want to delete it?

I agree with TorontoBoy. The uncategorized category is there because no category was assigned to the page/post when it was created. If you do not put things in any category, that is the default. You can edit the things that are in that "uncategorized" category to assign the category name you want, but if none is assigned, that is why it is uncategorized.

Yes. That category is created by default when installing Wordpress. Just change the name and problem solved :).
