Affiliate links in header

Hi all

On Sunday I noticed that users landing on my site were being redirected to various casino websites as soon as they clicked on the page, I found some script in my header and removed it which seemed to work.

I actually contacted some of the casinos with the users affiliate link to tell them what they were doing, to be fair they responded very quickly to assure me they'd dealt with the individual.

So today the same thing has happened except the links were pointing to various different sites (games/dating/casinos) - the code was in <script>

I've removed it again but obviously I need to sort out how this person is getting into the site to inject this link.

Can anyone recommend any plugins/security software to use on the site to stop this happening - I am more than happy to pay for software for this so they don't have to be free options. I have read about Wordfence - does anyone use this and is it effective?

Thanks!

You might have removed the links from the code but unless you remove the bug from the site it will keep re-infecting it. Contact your host for its help in this.

Most importantly make sure that your local machine is not infected with key loggers or other malicious bits and pieces. These are favorite ways for the bad guys to get into unsuspecting folks servers. Be sure to change credentials after scrubbing the machine.
