Hello: I have a Wordpress business website and when I enter a post with a title, then the name of the blog gets added on to the end of the title for every post. How can I edit that so that just the Post Title shows up and not the name of the blog? -Thanks in advance!

bluestate,

You can use an SEO plugin like Yoast to manage your titles and descriptions.

Thanks, I do have Yoast SEO plugin and maybe I do not have it set correctly? When I publish the post with the new title, then I also receive the Name of the website. I think I have Yoast set as Title of Post only but will check. I think there is something in the Theme Template that is causing that to happen and I cannot find out how to change that. Thanks for your quick response , I really appreciate it- Thank you!

here is the setting from Yoast %%term_title%% Archives %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%

How can I change that to get rid of the site name. It looks like you are correct- Thanks so much!

Try removing this: %%sitename%%

Please make sure you have a backup in case something goes haywire.

Did you remove %%sep%% %%sitename%%?

That should do it, but in some themes Yoast won't be able to hook in and you would have to go into the head section of your theme and edit the actual <title> tag

Just checked the Evolution Theme Settings and I have it set for Enable Custom Titles for Single Post and have "page title only" but then after I publish the post, the name of my website appears on the title of every post?

Should I try to change this? Enable canonical URL's on the Evolution Theme Settings?- Thanks!

I was posting at the same time as travelin cat - note that the %%sep%% is the separator (usually a pipe |) and you'll want to get rid of that too

You too.

BTW, in case someone comes along later - I've seen where if you have theme settings and Yoast that govern the title, you can have some odd results.
