We had a site go down after the auto-update to 4.2.3 the culprit was an older version of Woocommerce. It was the 2nd most recent update of the plugin, yet it still brought the site down.

Not one of theirs. One that had been modified to work with the plugin per their instructions.

Check if they updated plugin instructions as well or not ... If you are not handy with tech stuff, Then hiring a coder will be best solution.If you already fixed your problem, please let us know how you do it
