I've used both Yoast and All in One. They were okay but I found it more beneficial to modify my theme and build my own SEO solution (not a single tool).
I set up custom fields to manage my keywords & description and stripped the theme down and reorganized how things are loaded (lightening up the head section). I haven't had time to use this widely yet but it feels better to me because I know exactly what's being affected and how.

One factor to consider in all plug-ins is how they load their files. A site I checked the speed on a post was a greatly different story when looking at a category, or for that matter the main page with 8 posts.
It turned out several plug-ins were being loaded at the page level, essentially calling all scripts once per post - in that site's case it was 8 times!

All in One SEO Pack and SEO plugins by Yoast are the most popular ones. Depend on what your website is, you can choose 1 of them, e.g. All in one SEO pack is good enough for a blog; WooCommerce SEO from Yoast is matched for a woocommerce site.

I found to be useful also these plugins: - Yoast - All in One SEO Pack - Akismet - Google XML Sitemap for Images - Google XML Sitemaps - JR_PopularPosts - WP Recent Posts From Category - Generate Post Thumbnails - GD Star Rating - A few plugins that connect with social media websites (for user's sharing, either by admin sharing when it is posted an article, like Wp to Facebook or WP to Twitter).
