WordPress robots.txt

How to add to the dynamically created

Am I correct to assume that WP dynamically generates a simple robots.txt file?
If I enter my site URL and add "/robots.txt it shows up in a form disallowing admin and includes.
I have a few more dirs to disallow but cannot find it.
What can I do, upload a new one at root level and expect that it will override the dynamic one?

the typical WordPress internal rewrite will be preceded by a file existence check so that should work.
