Wordpress themes (Photolio/KingSize)

Some Wordpress themes such as Photolio & KingSize look amazing but don't have any text on the home page, rather like splash pages. I'd love to be able to use them to create stunning websites, but am worried that this will be detrimental to my customers' rankings on the search engines. Any thoughts ?

Most of these themes include a key difference from a splash page - they include the navigation. AND you can often edit them to add the necessary copy for them to be useful both to the user and to the bots.
