Hi everyone,

Looking for a Facebook / twitter / google +1 plugin that will work on the Category pages.

By work on the category pages, I want people to be able to Like that particular category page (as opposed to showing the Like button in the loop that displays the links to the posts in that category).

~~~~~~~~
If there isn't a plugin that will do this, then maybe there is a way to just pass the current URL and current category name when on a category level page to those buttons.
Use sexybookmarks plugin. You can select posts, pages, main page, category pages or rss page from plugin settings to show social buttons.
@image2all,
You will have to play around with the plugins section, within the Wordpress admin area. Find and use a plugin that you like! There are many different social media plugins and not all look favorable on your site! Find something that suites you and stick with it, just like anything else.
Use any plugin you like (AddToAny, ShareThis, whatever) then combine that with is_category [codex.wordpress.org]:
if (is_category()) {
// put the plugin code here
}
Note that's for any category archive page, if you just want the category parent, you might have to dig a little deeper to find out how to pull just the category parent.
