I thinking to use wordpress to build my new website similar to ehow.com, is wordpress is a good choice for this? and what is the advice around this. Thanks

There's not really a simpler CMS than WordPress. I've used it in a Q&A setting on a few sites for years.
Plugins will help you duplicate some of the features of big Q&A sites, like showing related posts.
