[27/May/2002:09:42:40 +0500] [OK] [host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] SSL Handshake failed. RC -16 ERRNO 0
It is supposed to mean "bad certificate".
After talking with IBM, they claim that the reason is because our server is set to cipher strength 128, and some older browsers are having difficulty communicating.
The deal is, when someone gets this error, after they click on a submit or continue button to move to the next page while in an SSL session, the page does not go ahead, and they get an immediate "server not found" message. If they hit the back button, then try it again, sometimes it actually works.
It has actually happened to me once while testing, and I'm using IE 5.5 SP2 with 128 bit SSL. So I don't personally buy IBM's excuse that it is just because some people have older browsers. Another customer called me one day who the same thing happened to and she was using IE 6.
Has anyone else seen this type of message?
