Hi,

I am going to have to start looking into forum software in the next two months. I am on W2K/IIS 5 platform. Cost is an issue to the client also.

I have read over several posts through search and have a few more questions...

Which is the LEAST taxing on the server? I am mostly concerened about response times and server load. Is there one that stands above the rest in this area?

Which is the easiest to customize? I know only basic ASP, enough to modify code but not write from scratch.

Which is the most secure?

On support do any have forums for support questions?

I have found a few intersting ones through Google and here but wanted to bounce it off of the seasoned people who have been there before.

TIA,

Brian

I use a free one from www.ultimateasp.com

It works fine, works on IIS without a problem.

You can customize it with hbasic HTML and some SQL modification.

Sticky me and I'll give you the URL of my version.

I'm looking for a forum that will display the 'topic title' in the title tag. Free would be nice.

Anybody in the know?

If PHP is not a problem, than I would *highly* recommend PhpBB it is free and has a good community that supports it too.

Depends,
I use a tweeked out version of SNITZ myself. If you need to do it in php, I would use phpboard. It has the most features.

Hii :

I recommend you use miniBB :

[minibb.net...]

the reason, I suggest miniBB is that , Its not bloated with all those irrelevant features, but if you feel a feature is missing, you can post there and get it in the forum of a plugin.

Its also not resource intensive.

Good luck

Cheers
