Discussion Forum for website

looking for suggestions about a threaded discussion forum to add to my site

Hello All,
This is my first post of this forum, and I would like to say thanks for all the valuable info. that everyone provides.

I'm looking for a free or cheap threaded discussion forum that I can implement of a site that I'm working on for my country association. I would like to have users register before posting to the forum so that I can better moderate the forum.

Suggestions and ideas will be greatly appreciated. :)

I'd highly recommend phpBB tropikana99...

the current version is 1.4.4 I think - which is excellent - but the group are developing version 2 right now and it's fantastic.

and it's free.
