Database Development

..need some suggestions

I am looking for a database developement system to use on a number of our sites. Actual requirements will vary according to the site, so it needs to be flexible and comprehensive.

I am not very 'techie' and don't have the time to learn masses of hand coding perl, PHP or even SQL.

Looking at whats available, I found Aborior Simplex. The docs make it seem 'within my grasp' technology wise. Also I can start using flatfile and move up to SQL when I get the time to master setting it up.

However, I am a little worried about devoting valuable learning time to a path using software which is an "unknown quantity".

Q1. Has anyone used this package, and if so, is it stable and 'bug free' ?

Q2. What proven alternatives are there?

Since you are just starting out why not use Access? You don't want to get involved in flat files if you will be growing - start with SQL coding - it's one of the easiest things to learn.

Also, Dreamweaver UltraDev is great for beginners. Take the tutorials, study the code, then start copying.
