I have had a user that connects to our ftp site request that file be automatically download from our site to his client when he logs on. Has anyone heard of this?
I can find no information on it.
We are running IIS for our FTP server.

Welcome to wmw!

The easiest way: ask him/her to set that file to be the home page in their browser.

You want someone to do that? Or is someone already doing that and you want to stop them from doing it?

You could do something like have them set a startup instance of their browser. When you make the shortcut, just include the url. Every time they boot up, it would launch the browser.

c:\program files\netscape\netscape.exe ftp://foo.com/bar.dat
