I am using an ip address and the pages load when I am on the box, but when I try to access the server from somewhere else, I get an error stating, server not found, blah, blah, blah.
I am able to telnet and ftp in externally, so I sure the network connection is okay. Any ideas?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld mhenke! We have few IIS experts here, not many, but someone may drop in with a few suggestions. In the meantime you might find a few ideas at [ntfaq.com...]

First I would check if the DNS has been set up correctly, secondly just to be on the safe side make sure you have pressed the start button in the management console [it happens ;)].

Could port 80 be blocked by a firewall somewhere on your network?

Thanks for the good posts. But we have a winner, port 80 is blocked some how. I am trying to find out how to open it up, there seems to be a lack of information or I am not looking in the right places. I took off my firewall software and disconnected my router. But the port still is closed. Any knowledge of W2K server/opening ports would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks, in advance.
