How can I best stream video clips on my website?

I am using FrontPage for my website and would like to include a series of very short video clips on certain pages.

Have installed Windows Mediaplayer on the website and inserted a clip, but it first loads the entire file and then plays: takes too long!

I have heard about 'progressive download'. Can anyone recommend the best way to do this? This is for a very small business and I don't want to use an actual streaming server. Have found "webmastermediamaker" software but don't know if that will work with FrontPage and if it will show the video faster, ie playback begins before entire file has been downloaded. (Also, my video files are in .avi format)

I appreciate any input you can give .. Thanks!

Hi there,

I don't think that the streaming of your movies are linked to the software you used to create the page - i.e. FrontPage

I haven't heard of webmastermediamaker - but if it says that it can create a streamed version of a movie - it might be what you are looking for. Otherwise the streaming server can be a solution as well.

Hope this helps
