I am able to use MSIE to ftp my files to the server using command: ftp://mywebname.com

When I use my computer at home I get an error message: "Proxy is not configured, etc. I looked in the settings of my computer in the office and see that the configuration is at home."

Would appreciate advice.

I would skip msie for uploading and instead get a good ftp client. There are several good freeware clients available like Wsftp and Leech. The problem with IE could be one of a hundred things.
