Best way to switch from example1.com to example2.com

htaccess? need search engine friendly way to do this

I am about to switch one of my sites from example1.com to example2.com. I have a couple hundred pages and pretty good exposure in G and Y and don't want to lose that.

What's the best way to do this? htaccess? I don't mind keeping hosting on the old domain for a while if need be.

Do a 301 permanent redirect over to the new domain and leave the old domain up for as long as you can. You can do this via .htaccess
