I am planning out an offsite backup strategy and wanted to see how others were handling it.
I am currently subscribed to a third party backup service that has been ok, but I have to spend too much time making sure it backed up since it sometimes fails during backup.
Instead I was considering keeping a computer on at home and ftp'ing my file to there (I use handybackup to backup files locally and can use this to ftp there). I've also looked into setting up a vpn, but it is so slow (using openvpn). Unfortunately I would have to keep my computer on all the time only for this purpose.
Any other ideas on an efficient way to have an reliable offsite backup?
I also keep a copy of my hard disk on an external hard drive which I rotate using casperxp.
