Hi,

I am having trouble with FTPing from my PC (XP-pro)... I can connect to an ftp site once no problem, but then have to reboot in order to connect again once i have disconnected. This happens with all my ftp software (flash fxp, dreamweaver, smart-ftp) and to all ftp sites.

This has only started to happen since i updated my network card drivers, but i'm not sure that this is the cause as I made quite a few other changes on my pc at that time...

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

Wow, I've never run into that before. I'm not sure what it could be that causes the FTP to drop.

Does it affect all your internet connection or just FTP?

Perhaps there is a firewall out there that blocks that port traffic?

Let's just "bump" and see if anyone else knows about it.

It's just my FTP traffic.

I run the NVidia Firewall on anti-hacking only and the windows firewall with the right exemptions specified for all my FTP software.

My first guess for the culprit would be the firewalls. Have you tried passive ftp?

Yes I use passive FTP. I turned both the firewalls off and it works fine, so i'll have a play around and see which was the culprit.

Thanks for your help.
