I'm guessing I have hundreds, if not thousands, of keyword combinations that are ranking well. When I look at my user stats I can often click back to the original SE query that brought someone to my site. That's one way I can tell how effective my documents and SEO are.
So it's occurred to me... how many top 10 keyword combinations do I have on any given SE? I can use my records to generate data from visitors, but that obviously misses a few.
Is there a good method or tool available to determine this sort of information? Maybe I'm thinking too hard about it and have missed the obvious...
Try and avoid the ego trap of seeing yourself #1 for a no traffic term. Its fun seeing yourself rank high but at the end of the day that is not what makes you money. Traffic and conversions are what will pay for you vacation to New Orleans :)
Of course, it serves the ego well to see new pages filter up thru the SERPs. But as they move into the top 3 positions I seriously think it's possible to drop a term, or reduce the spend on it... knowing that some people will only click an ad and not a result.
I think I'm probably asking for the keys here :) So, barring any good tools I'll cobble my data into Excel and see what pops up.
