Hi,

Every once in a while I step over a new cool tool ... some other times I find a more efficient way of working with technology. Most of the times I think "MAN, I can't believe how much time I wasted without that one".

I am wondering if other people have similar experiences? What are your "best practices" and/or tools you could not imagine working without?

Here are some of mine:

- having a tool which can pick the RGB-Code of any color directly from the screen (I am working with "smart color pick'n capture"). Much better than importing/exporting pictures and find the color code with a picture editing software

- having a local apache server with php/sql installed on my windows machine ... (if you work with windows)

- knowing that you can export almost ANY table from almost ANY website into excel with a right-click on the table (you have to temporary switch to IE before doing it ;-)

- Having a tool which can capture screenshots of any size from your screen. I am using ScreenPrint32. Pretty neat.

- If your work with Windows - Replacing that basic txt-Editor with a better one (I have JGSoft's Editpad). Ideally one which shows the html-tags, since you do so much directly in the html-code anyways.

I hope someone else has best practices and/or ideas, too; so that we can all learn a little today.

Thanks & Best Regards,
Benni

I'll add a few that I think are indespensible. These aren't 'new cool' tools, but among the set for Webmaster's Best Practices.

Markup Validation Service. Use the Options to view the document Outline. Document doesn't have an outline? ...tsk.

Spelling and Grammar checker. They're available everywhere.
