Some serious hosting companies offers plans that allows multiple Domains to Host

"You can host multiple domain names, with separate control panels, separate web contents, e-mail accounts etc. You wil receive two control panels, Cpanel and WebHostManager."

Does that affect the way search engines consider your site? I guess you will not have different ip for each.

Even if you were on different servers at the hosts shop most likely they will still be in the same C block.

Take care,

I still think this is nonsense..I have always hosted my domains on shared servers using a reseallers account.. I host anywhere from 10-30 websites at a time and never have any trouble ranking

I have yet to ever see anyone offer solid proof otherwise..

I think it is nothing more than a sales pitch injected by webhosts trying to get you to open your wallet morethan you need too..

It's perfectly fine to have a bunch of sites hosted on the same IP address.

As long as you don't link those domains together you won't have any search engine ranking problems whatsoever.

bhartzer I even link my sites ..have for years without problems..I think that's another old wives tale .

There's a big difference between linking your sites and creating a link farm.. Link farming will indeed get you busted but just linking to your other sites wont be a problem and can even help the sites that are relational

Paranoia runs deep , I know we all want to be careful as we should but sometimes things myths take on a life of their own.

Can anyone name one person that ever had their sites banned or not ranking well based solely because they linked to each other?

Of course not

Yes, I have seen many sites that have been penalized (actually they didn't rank for anywhere for anything) for same-IP-address and same-owner linking. The same-ip-address penalty is very much a reality.

Keep in mind, though, that the more links you have from other sites the more Google tends to "overlook" the same-ip-address linking.

That's pretty ridiculous to me (no offense of course). I'd need to have 10 different hosting companies if I run 10 websites? I don't think so.

If I'm not wrong common shared server plans are the usual way to host for most of people, and is there plenity of websites ranking ok using sharing server. I don't think they have unique IPs.

I belive is there a mith no one can proof, but I doesn't seem to have a solid base.

Just for clarity: When you're all talking about having numerous web sites, are you talking about different web sites in the same sector? i.e. different web sites on the same IP address offering the same business but with slightly different content?

I mean different domains around same theme, different content, hosted on same shared server, linking each other moderately.
