urgent help on PEN drive needed

Hi
I borrowed a ibm usb pen drive of 256mb from my friend to transfer some files
from his pc to my pc.

I connected it to udb port of computer and transfered the files
Every thing was fine till time when suddenly the power cord to my
pc,which was loose came out and the power to pc was off so pc was
shut down

so due to this i wasnt able to disconnect the pen drive from the pc
by using option , which we have to do using the icon on right hand side
on extereme bottom

so is pen drive dmamaged,as when i again restarted my pc it says
windows found new hardware but cannot install it properly.

i am but worried.:(

please tell me how this can be solved

I dont think the pen drive will be damaged. It is possible that the hardware is not recognised by Windows XP. I imagine it came with some software on cd. Try re-installing the software to see if this fixes your problem.
