SmarterMail: how to add IP range to send email via SMTP?

I am a web developer and my boss is leaving in a couple months. Recently I have been taking over most of the server administration for him. I received a request from a colleague to add the 55.555.55.555 /24 (bogus ip on purpose) network to the be able to send E-mail through the SMTP server on our mail server. I can tell you that we use smarter mail and iis. Normally I would ask him what to do, but he is making me try to figure it out on my own. I have been researching things for a while now and I have idea where to begin. Can anyone give me some pointers and just general insight as I am brand new to all of this. I can also tell you we don't use the smtp server thing in IIS it is disabled. Thanks,

Are you asking haw to setup smtp bypass in smartermail so that ip can send without authenticating?

If so under the security tab when you are logged in as the smartermail system administrator, you should see "SMTP Authentication Bypass". You should be able to add the ip address and range there.
