Moving to new domain name.

From .Net to .Com with same name

Hi,

I recently acquired the ".com" version of a domain name from which I own the ".net".
I'm planning to start using the .com, instead the .net right away. I was thinking how would be the best way to forward my current traffic to the .com.
Am I fine if I setup a 301 from the .net to .com?
Which others problems I could have?
