The affiliate has created a subdomain http://shop.affiliate.tld/ that forwards to our server (dedicated Apache server) IP where we host the e-commerce site.

My question is, will we add the the SSL certificate to our server for http://shop.affiliate.tld/ or will the affiliate add it to their server?

Is it possible to add an SSL certificate for the affiliate domain, even though we don't actually own that domain?

Any help / suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Mike

That depends what you mean by "forward" - is the subdomain simply a redirect to a different secure site, or is the subdomain resolving directly to your server? If it is your server which handles direct requests for the subdomain, then the certificate needs to be installed on your server.

Thanks encyclo, it is resolving directly to our server.

Yeah I thought we might have to install it on ours. Just wasn't too sure if we could..
