Not sure if this will make sense. We host our own website and a couple of others. If you goto www.example.com all works great. If you type just example.com you get routed to a different site that we host. I would like it to go to the www.example.com if someone just types example.com. I hope this makes sense. Any help would be great. We are using windows 2000 server with IIS 5.0 and have the microsoft ISA 2000 server. Everything else is working great.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the WebmasterWorld forums!

In order to have the proper website appear without the www, you will need to set it up as a host header in the IIS manager.

You'll also need to set the A record for that domain name without the www pointing to the IP address.

i agree on the host headers.

however, i would generally prefer to have one A record, and one CNAME record pointed at the name attached to the A record.

note that i said prefer. having two A records will work too.

Thanks guys. It worked great. I really appreciate the help. You have a great site here. I will have to keep checking back since I am kind of new to the website thing and have just been thrown in to it here.
