I have run into something that I do not understand. Working with a storefront product called quickcart ( a hosted solution), I am being told that the domain they use to identify my store can not be masked due to the SSL certificate on the domain.

Quote: "The problem with domain masking is SSL is in the domian name. Which is why we use shop.example.com this is a secure domain protected by SSL."

I am wondering if someone can shed light on the difference between domain masking (term used by Godaddy) and domain aliasing (term used by Yahoo), and how this might effect SSL.

Thanks for your replies in advance,

JG
