This just started happening yesterday, but all of a sudden on my sites, www.widgets.com can't be found, but widgets.com is right there. What happened? How can I fix it? All of my links are pointed to www. and I'm losing loads of business every second...

Can you tell us more? Only tip I can give you with the info you gave is to contact your host or domain company.

Yeah, I contacted my hosting provider but haven't heard anything yet. I don't know what more info I can give. I was hoping it was an easy fix, but I'm guessing now it's something on the hosting side. Infuriating, though.

SulkyGirl,

2 things must be there:
-- both names, example.com as well as www.example.com must be defined in the DNS,
-- and both names must then be defined in the http-server's config file.

It is up to your web hoster to do this properly.

If you send me a sticky mail with your domain name I could look at it and tell you if at least the DNS part is set up correctly.

Regards,
R.

I believe the technical term for this in the hosting world is wildcards. Normally it has to be requested for widgets.com to work in conjunction with www.widgets.com. You seem to have it the other way around. Changes need to be made to the DNS at the server end - get onto your hosting provider asap.
