I just signed up with a VPS. I have my nameserver set up, so I thought I would test it out to make sure it's working properly. Let's say my nameserver is www.nameserver.com. I have a few websites that I have already uploaded files for. All I need to do is change the nameserver. However, I have a slight problem.

I uploaded the index.htm file for one of my sites to the www.nameserver.com site. Now if I go to nameserver.com site using the IP addy, all of my images show up just fine. If I type in www.namesever.com, there are no images, not even broken images. WHen I look at the source code for www.nameserver.com, there aren't even any image tags in it at all.

I should note that the index.htm file has the FULL PATH (ie, www.mysite.com/images/myimage.jpg) for ALL of the images, so why do the images only show up when I put the IP addy in the address bar?

I'm anxious to get my sites moved over, but I HAVE to have those images working, as I use image maps, and my sites are photo-intensive. Any idea what the problem could be?

Have you only just re-delegated your domain name? It can take a couple of days for the domain name to work properly.

No, I haven't done that yet. I just wanted to upload one of my index.htm files to my nameserver, since everything is in place for that particular domain name. I won't be using it all, just wanted to test it since my index.htm file has all of the full paths to the images. The page loads EVERYTHING when the IP for the nameserver is typed in, but when I type in the actual www.nameseverdomain.com name, no images show up, but everything else does. It's as if I made the page w/o using any images.

Someone else mentioned that it could be something in httpd.conf, but I don't know how to access it. I'm totally new to VPS, as I've always used shared hosting, so I'm not sure how to get to this file to check out the ServerName directive.

I know this forum is full of experts, and I'm embarrassed to have to ask questions that I know are silly to you guys, but I don't know what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
