I currently have a site that hosts MP3's (legal live concerts). I have been getting into Torrents which are music or movie files that are lossless in quality. I have been thinking about putting those on the site as well but really don't know how to do it. My host offers me 2000mb of disc space and 60GB of transfer bandwidth a month. Would I be able to make a torrent on this system or would I need to somehow install Bit Torrent software to constantly seed the file. Any help on this would be great thanks!

As long as you have enough control over your box, you should be able to install bittorrent. It should reduce your bandwith use if a lot of people are downloading at the same time. Otherwise, you won't get the benefits.

That said, you can get some dedicated servers for about $80/month that allow 500 gigs of bandwidth -I've even seen 1,000Gigs (1 Terabyte!) for around $60/month- so if you are going to have something really data intensive, you might want to shop around.
