Blocking links to blots

I need to get some kind of re-direct script (like in use here at WW) to allow people to put links into forum posts, but protect the site from someone linking out to a "bad neighbourhood".

Can anyone point me to one that will do the trick? It needs to stop bots following the links, obviously.

Thanks,

TJ

Well, I guess the obvious is to view source here, and grab the script, assuming it's open source. If it's not, there's probably some ownership info - email addy, whatever - within the script part of the source which would give you a contact point to request permission to copy/utilize.

Can you view source of a CGI server-side script?

If that's what's used here, then no, probably not.... unless somehow it shows up in your temp file, and I kind of doubt that. I don't have much info about server-side scripts - never used them myself. Though I may be learning soon, just moved to servers which have some goodies like that available.

Maybe try some of the script sites around? Not posting links, of course, but google for "cgi script repositories" or perl or whatever language you would prefer.

I'm certain that isn't possible - the script resides server-side.

The reason I asked here is I'm specifically after a redirect script which bots cannot follow.

That may be all of them though.

Can anyone confirm, for me?

Thanks,
